If you are in danger now, call 112. Everything else on this page can wait a minute for you to read it.

Someone shared an intimate image of me. What do I do?

In short

On Wumn: Report it and choose “This is me, shared without my consent”. It is hidden at once, and we act within 2 hours.

Off Wumn: StopNCII can stop it spreading, and you can report it on cybercrime.gov.in or call 1930.

  • On Wumn. Use Report on the post, story, comment, review or conversation. Not signed in, or reporting for someone else? Write to care@wumn.in with “Urgent” in the subject and a link.
  • Stop it spreading. StopNCII makes a fingerprint of the image on your own phone, without uploading it, so the platforms that use it can block copies.
  • The police. Report it at cybercrime.gov.in or call the cyber crime helpline, 1930. Sharing an intimate image without consent is a crime under the IT Act and the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
  • Support. The Women Helpline, 181, answers every day.

What if a child is at risk?

In short

On Wumn: Report it and choose “A child is at risk”. We act within 2 hours and tell the police.

A child in danger now: call 1098 or 112.

  • CHILDLINE, 1098. Free, every day, for any child who needs help or anyone worried about one.
  • The POCSO e-box. The National Commission for Protection of Child Rights takes complaints of a child’s sexual abuse at ncpcr.gov.in.
  • On Wumn. Anything that harms or sexualises a child is removed, the account is closed and we report it, as the POCSO Act requires.

I think I was scammed. What now?

In short

Money taken by fraud: call 1930 at once. The sooner you call, the more can be held back.

Then tell your bank, and report the account on Wumn.

  • Call 1930, the national cyber crime helpline, or report at cybercrime.gov.in. They can ask banks to hold money that has not yet left.
  • Your bank. Block your card or UPI, and tell them what happened.
  • On Wumn. Report the conversation or the shop, and write to care@wumn.in. A payment made outside Wumn is one Wumn cannot trace or refund, which is why we ask you to pay only at Wumn’s checkout.

What Wumn never asks for, in Messages and safety
