Terms of Sale

Effective To be confirmed·Version To be confirmed

Draft for legal review

These terms apply when you buy a piece on Wumn. They sit beside the Terms of Use, which apply whenever you use Wumn.

1. Who sells me the piece, and when is the sale made?

In short

The maker sells it to you: the maker is the seller.

Wumn is the marketplace: it runs the platform, takes your payment, and runs returns, refunds and disputes.

The sale is made when your payment succeeds and your order is confirmed.

Every piece on Wumn is sold by the maker who lists it: a designer, boutique, studio or fashion label. Your contract of sale is with the maker. Wumn Fashion Private Limited runs Wumn as a marketplace: it shows you the pieces, takes your payment through an authorised payment aggregator, pays the maker after the return window, and runs returns, refunds and disputes between you and the maker. Wumn does not make the pieces, keep stock or set the maker’s prices.

Your order is an offer to buy. The contract of sale is made when your payment succeeds and the order is confirmed on screen. The maker ships the piece from her own address. It becomes yours, and is at your risk, when it is delivered to you.

Wumn charges the maker a commission on each sale and invoices the maker for it. It is never added to the price you pay.

2. How do I know who the seller is?

In short

Under “Sold by” on the piece, in your bag, at checkout and on your order: her business name, GST registration, address and customer care.

Her rating shows once she has enough reviews.

  • Name. The maker’s name is shown on the piece, in your bag, at checkout before you pay, and on your order. Tap it to open her page.
  • Rating. A maker’s rating shows on her pieces from her third review, made from buyers’ reviews only. A piece’s own rating shows from its first review.
  • Sold by. Before you pay, the piece page, your bag and checkout show who sells it: her registered business name, whether she is GST registered and her GSTIN, her address, and her customer-care phone and e-mail. Until a maker gives her own e-mail, Wumn’s (care@wumn.in) is shown beside her name. Your order shows the same for a ready-made piece; for a piece made to order, her name is on the offer and at checkout.
  • Talking to the maker. You can message her from the piece or from your order.

Seller details, in Marketplace disclosures

3. How are prices and taxes shown?

In short

The maker sets the price. Every price includes GST and is never above the MRP.

Delivery is free. You see one total, with its breakup, before you pay.

  • Who sets it. The maker sets the price of each size. Everyone sees the same price for the same piece; we never price by who you are.
  • MRP. No price is ever above the MRP printed on the piece.
  • Taxes. Prices are in Indian rupees and include GST.
  • The total. Checkout shows each piece, delivery (free) and the total in one figure before you pay. Nothing is added later.
  • A piece made to order. Its price is the one in the offer you accept, fixed before you pay.

Every charge, in Payments and fees

4. Who gives me the invoice?

In short

For now, your tax invoice comes from Wumn, with the maker named on it.

From To be confirmed, it is issued in the maker’s name, with her GSTIN.

Your tax invoice comes from Wumn for now, in the parcel and on request, and names the maker who sold you the piece. From To be confirmed it is issued in the maker’s name, with her GSTIN, as the seller. If you need your invoice, for a claim or for your records, write to care@wumn.in with your order number and we send it to you.

5. How do I pay?

In short

Online, on Wumn, through an authorised payment aggregator. No cash on delivery.

Your size is held for 15 minutes while you pay.

You pay on Wumn, through an authorised payment aggregator, with UPI, a card, net banking or a wallet. Wumn never receives your card number. When you start paying, the size you chose is held for 15 minutes; if the time runs out, nothing is charged. The maker is paid after the return window closes, so a refund you are owed can always be made. If money leaves your account but your order is not confirmed, we complete the order or refund you in full; see Payment not received (sign in first).

Pay only on Wumn. A payment made to a maker directly, by UPI, bank transfer or any other way, is outside these terms, and Wumn cannot refund it.

Payments and fees

6. How is my order delivered?

In short

Free, by courier, from the maker’s address to yours, anywhere a courier reaches in India.

A late piece can be returned for a full refund.

The piece shows when it is expected before you buy, and your order keeps that date. Wumn books the courier. If a delivery fails, you choose what happens next, as Shipping and delivery explains. If your piece arrives after the date on your order, you may return it for a full refund within 7 days of delivery.

Shipping and delivery

7. Can I cancel, return or exchange a piece?

In short

Cancel free until the courier is booked.

Return or exchange within 7 days of delivery. A fault is always refunded.

Wumn runs every return and refund, between you and the maker.

  • Cancelling. Free, before the courier is booked. If the maker cancels, you are refunded in full and owe nothing. See Cancellations.
  • Returns and exchanges. Ask from your order within 7 days of delivery. See the return window and exchanges.
  • Faults. A piece that is damaged, wrong, badly made, not as shown or late is always refunded if you ask, whatever the maker offers. See Faults.
  • Who decides. The maker sees your request and can accept or dispute it. Wumn decides a dispute and tells you why.

The 7 days window is the promise for fit and change of mind. It does not limit your right to a remedy for a piece that is defective, deficient or not as described, under the Consumer Protection Act 2019 and the Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules 2020.

Returns & refunds

8. How does buying a piece made to order work?

In short

You agree the piece, the price and the date with the maker in a chat. Accepting her offer and paying makes the sale.

Cancelling, faults, a late piece and your own fabric are in Made to order.

The maker sends you an offer in your conversation: what will be made, the price, the date, and any fabric you send. It stands for 48 hours. When you accept it and pay, the contract of sale is made with the maker as the seller. Not returnable for fit or taste when it matches the offer; a defective, not as agreed or late piece is refunded. How cancelling is refunded at each stage, faults, a late piece and your own fabric are in Made to order.

Made to order, including sending your own fabric

9. Who is responsible if a piece harms me or is defective?

In short

The maker, who made and sold the piece, answers for it under the Consumer Protection Act 2019.

Wumn helps you make the claim and gives you the maker’s details.

The maker is responsible for the piece: that it is as described, safe to wear, and made well. If a piece is defective or causes you harm, you can claim against the maker under the product liability chapter of the Consumer Protection Act 2019. Tell Wumn first, at care@wumn.in or from your order: we pass the claim to the maker, give you her name, address and contact details, refund what is owed through Wumn, and keep the record. Wumn answers for its own part as the marketplace: for showing the piece as the maker described it, and for running payment, returns and complaints with care.

Pieces carry no separate warranty or guarantee. Your rights are the ones in these terms and the law.

Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or injury caused by negligence or by a defective piece, for fraud, or for any right you have under the Consumer Protection Act 2019 that cannot be limited by agreement.

Raising a complaint, in Grievance redressal

10. What if something outside anyone’s control gets in the way?

In short

Neither the maker nor Wumn is in breach for delay caused by events nobody could control.

You never lose your refund because of one.

Events like floods, earthquakes, epidemics, strikes, a government order or a courier network shutting down can delay or stop an order. When that happens, the maker and Wumn are not in breach for the delay, and we tell you as soon as we know. You keep every choice you had: cancel before the courier is booked, refuse the parcel, or return a late piece for a full refund. If a piece cannot be delivered at all, you are refunded in full.
